Hans Ulrich Seeber, a longstanding member of the Executive Board of the International Center for Cultural and Technological Studies (IZKT), passed away on January 25, 2024. As a professor of Modern English Literature, his intellectual curiosity, openness, and interdisciplinary approach played a vital role in shaping the center’s widely acclaimed projects from its early years. His works, including Magic, Science, Technology, and Literature (2005) and The Crimean War as the First European Media War (2010), both part of the IZKT series Culture and Technology, remain landmark contributions to the field.
We are grateful for his work and unwavering dedication. His humor, kindness, and enthusiasm have left a lasting impact on all of us.
