Our still young network for science communication in Stuttgart makes further progress: After a very inspiring Brainstorm Kick-off in January this year, things have now become more concrete: In our second meeting, this time in the StadtPalais Stuttgart, the network decided on its name and corresponding hashtag. From now on we can be addressed as SciComm Stuttgart. Netzwerk Wissenschaftskommunikation and those who search for us in social media can find us under the hashtag #SciCommStuttgart. Furthermore, we have decided on topical focuses, clarified the next organizational steps and assigned first tasks. The ideas communicated in this meeting were very exciting. Some suggested theme weeks, Podcasts and newspaper contributions. Others pointed out the importance of creating public meeting places with science, both in real urban space and online, for example, through screens in S-Bahn and subway stations.
Eventually there was enough room for both the participants and the audience to exchange ideas about “Science Communication and Media Change”. Prof. Alexander Mäder (HdM Stuttgart), Dr. Yannick Nordwald (exhibition curator) and Dr. Iris Dressler (Director of the Württemberg Art Association) were on the stage and provided insights into various perspectives on the topic. (Presentation: Apl. Prof. Felix Heidenreich, IZKT).
We are already looking forward to the next steps, first realizations and further cooperation, taking place until our next meeting in January 2025.
Stay tuned or join us - shortly also on LinkedIn. On this platform you will find more about the projects and be able to exchange information.
